Winemaker Brian Schmidt’s commitment to producing quality products starts in the vineyard. According to Brian, “It is of paramount importance to understand the soil and the site where your grapes are grown.” The commitment to quality continues in the Cellar, where Brian’s self-described winemaking style is “minimalist by nature”. Brian is focused on varietals that are well suited to Niagara’s cool climate and on developing a distinctive approach to a focused number of signature varietals such as Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Franc. Already known for the minerality and balanced acidity of his Rieslings, Brian continues to make wines that are counted among Niagara’s best.
Vine Adventures
Our winemaker Brian and Vineland Estates Winery wish to support and congratulate both Sandra Oldfield and Rick VanSickle on their respective projects that hit so close to our vine-hearts!
